Where the Buffaloes Roam: Building a Team for Life's Challenges
Published in Hardcover by Addison-Wesley Publishing (September, 1993)
Average review score:

Creating the team to create the reality...For me, this book is not about the battle against illness but rather the power of creating a TEAM to create the REALITY we want in life. There are two ways to get love in this world -- ask for it and give it. This book helped me to really be clear on my purpose, put out to the world what I really want, enlist the assistance of others in meeting that goal, and continue improving my life and others I come in contact with through my efforts. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Dare to live as someone who was "dying" teaches you! I have been on my own personal journey of transformation predicated by major conflict with a teenage son. We are both deeply involved with creating a better world for ourselves and others. What a ride!
A must read for Cancer warriors and survivors. When you sit across a big wooden desk from someone in a white labcoat who says "I'm afraid it's bad news" and advises you to get your affairs in order, your next move should be to pick up this book. Mr. Stone's uplifting method of taking on The Big "C" is an inspiration for those of us who share the journey. If you haven't started your own "buffaloe herd" yet, you will! Thank you, thank you, thank you to Bob and Jenny for this manual on survivorship. This book is worth an "out-of-print" search.

White Stone in the Castle Wall
Published in Library Binding by Bt Bound (October, 1999)
Average review score:

A Great Story and EducationalI used this book to learn about history. It's about a boy in 1912 and something that actually happened when a rich man asked people to bring stones to help build the wall of his castle. The illustrator drew great pictures of what the city was like in 1912 and how people lived at that time.(Amazon said it was made of photos but they are actually pictures that are drawn) I did a presentation about it at school and everyone really liked it and now they are all reading the book and saying it is great. (My mom helped with this review)
A great storyI read this book in school and its my favourite of the year, It is a real adventure of a boy in 1912. It made me feel like something from history could have happened to me. I really liked the pictures too because they showed how the city looked. Later we found out that all those buildings can still be seen and we can actually visit the Castle where it all happened.

The Wisdom of Stones
Published in Hardcover by HarperCollins (April, 1994)
Average review score:

I Love Greg Matthews!!!!Wisdom Of Stones is really good. I am Australian and I loved it. I don't know why everyone is complaining about the first 30 pages . I thought they were great. I also recommend The Further Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn. Greg now resides in Australia again. Welcome home Greg. John Baranyai
It's 95% as good as "Heart" and "Power." 'Nuff said! This is typical Greg Matthews, which means that it's superb. This story begins in pre-WWII Australia, but it's mostly a war story, with an especially vivid rendering of a prisoner-of-war camp. There are about 30 pages near the beginning that don't work (no conflict, no action, no nothing) but the rest of the novel is so great that it has to get five stars.

A Must Have for Western LoversMy dad loved this so much for father's day that he's forcing me to read it. He told me about how he got kinda misty when he read the stories and thought about the days when everyone wanted to be a cowboy or an astronaut. Thanks amazon.com for bringing back those memories. Happy Trails

20 Years of Rolling Stone: What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been
Published in Hardcover by Friendly Pr (November, 1987)
Average review score:

Good coffee table bookRead it for nostalgia or read it for enlightenment. A collection of major articles published in Rolling Stone between 1965 and 1987. Several are interviews, including Keith Moon, John Lennon, Mick Jagger, Sting, Bob Dylan, and Jack Nicholson. Then there are the "following the celebrity around for a day" pieces, and the political and social commentary, including that of Hunter S. Thompson. It's just a survey of Rolling Stone-ness for 20 years. Excellent journalism, and that goes for the substantial collection of photos here too.

25 Bicycle Tours in Maine: Coastal and Inland Rides from Kittery to Caribou
Published in Paperback by Countryman Pr (May, 1990)
Average review score:

Another excellent book from Howard StoneI have enjoyed Howard Stone's bike books for Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and as a new resident of Maine am delighted to have an opportunity to enjoy his rides in my new state. As always, Howard's ride descriptions and directions are very thorough and accurate. I especially appreciate the consistency with which he rates the difficulty of the rides. As an avid, but strictly recreational, cyclist, I found this to be an excellent book.

303 Paradise Lane
Published in Paperback by iUniverse.com (January, 2001)
Average review score:

A Real Page TurnerOn par with Sidney Sheldon for pulling you in and making you feel all the angst and heartache that this character goes through. You can literally feel the slippery slope from which Gerri Knapp begins her downward spiral. Can she pull herself out? Will there be other forces to help her along the way? You can truly identify with some of the real life examples. I felt the same powerful 'human feelings' while reading this novel as I did when I viewed the Michael Douglas film, 'Falling Down'...things like her utter despair and inability to confide in anyone around her. Lauren Stone makes you want to reach out your hand to Gerri Knapp...REACH OUT AND BUY THIS BOOK! You won't be sorry!

8,000 Stones: A Chinese Folktale.
Published in Library Binding by Doubleday (June, 1972)

The Ingenuity of a ChildThis is a wonderful book for children to read or have read to them. I have used it many times when talking about the ingenuity of children and bolstering self esteem. It discusses the intuitive knowledge that children possess to solve problems if they are given the unfettered opportunity. I highly recommend this book to anyone with children between pre-kindergarten and 6th grade. Well written and imaginative.

Well, i started it and could not leave it. It was very well written...a very comfortable read.
